Thank you for visiting our website. This site is designed for those planning similar trips around the world as real overlanders and for our friends and family to follow along. Unlike the increasing number of commercial overlanders who sell stories, books, photos, and other content through media like Facebook and travel forums, we travel the world purely for the fun of it—without any commercial intent.

98% of the pictures you see on our website are our own. When images are protected, we do our best to credit the photographer, traveller, or source. If we can’t, it’s simply “BAD LUCK.” We’re not commercial overlanders; we just want to showcase the beauty of this world and highlight the incredible places to visit.

Traveling in an expedition vehicle overland around the world offers a unique perspective on the countries we have explored. Allowed us to connect more deeply with local cultures and environments compared to traditional forms of travel.

It has been a long journey – a journey of dreaming and planning. Since 1984, We have been traveling off-road around Australia during holidays and as member of various 4WD clubs. Robert, as a trip coordinator and organizer for hard 4WD and longer trips with the Toyota Landcruiser Club of Brisbane, has led expeditions, including wet season trips to the Kimberleys, Cape York, and summer trips in the desert.

In 2004, we made the decision to explore Australia’s Outback and off-road tracks in detail. This led to a 4-year journey, from 2004 to 2009, that took us deeper into the heart of the Australian landscape.

During our 4-year journey, we began to dream of an off-road adventure around the world. In 2009, we shipped our new truck from Brisbane (Australia) to Durban (South Africa), marking the beginning of a life-changing journey. While waiting for the truck to arrive in South Africa, we rented a 4WD and traveled through Kalimantan, Borneo, Sabah, and Brunei.

On January 6, 2004, when we woke up that morning to leave our house, we had a strange feeling, knowing that we wouldn’t be back for at least nine months. The rush of excitement we felt that day is something that never changes every time we buy a plane ticket, pack our bags, and head off to explore unfamiliar places.

That was a special day. It marked the beginning of our planned 5-year journey around the world. Our plan was to travel for a maximum of 9 months each year, allowing us to return home for 3 months each year, leaving our truck in the country we were visiting.
