Hi Robert and Clary,
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
I hope this email finds you well and travelling around this great globe of ours.
My wife (Annalisse) and I are in the planning phase of our early ‘retirement’ to travel Australia for a few years and then the world.
We are currently looking at what type of vehicle we should buy/build.
Being somewhat handy on the tools, plumbing, 12/24V, and non-structural welding will be ok. The box build will most likely be outsourced and so will be the subframe…if needed.
We are looking at a 4500mm long box, mounted to a 4×4 truck, such as Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Hino or Unimog…the old ones if possible without all the electrics.
The questions we have are these:
With your previous touring around Oz, would one of the following be ok or too big?
Building on a RHD chassis, will that create many issue going to LHD countries, and are we better off having something in Oz, then selling and starting again in Europe with another vehicle, like you did?
Any and all help greatly appreciated 🙂
