Feb 12, 2020, we said goodbye to South America, after 3 amazing years with lots of great scenery and culture.
Central America is our next destination to explore but due to our truck being right hand drive we had to give Panama and Costa Rica a miss and shipped to Veracruz instead. Despite the many reports of break inns, we had no issues and our motorhome arrived undamaged. The only issue we had was the inefficiency in Veracruz where it took 8 days for the paperwork to be finalized. Corona made our trip shorter than planned. Initially we talked about staying based on the reports we received from the USA but listening to the Australian reports who were opposite of those in the USA and urged every Australian to come home ASAP we decided to cut our trip short and listen the advise from the Australian government (So glad we did as at one stage we even discussed driving to the USA) Lucky we found a flight out of Cancun to return home however we were surprised to arrive at both Cancun and Dallas airport where it was life as normal without any checking (this was March 23) the rest is now history and it is now clear that all precautions were left too late. Upon arriving in Australia, we were placed in 2 weeks self-isolation. FOR Mexico PART ONE blog and more pictures Click https://www.doubledutchworldsafari.au/our-journey/central-america/mexico/

Hi guys,
We have just stumbled on to you via YouTube and are blown away by your travels. We are just wondering what make of vehicle you guys are travelling in and how big it is? We are trying to plan our “exit” strategy (COVID) but is delayed due to the sell of our business 🙁 and have you done a “vehicle layout” inside of the van ?
Any information would be greatly appreciated
Kind regards
Rex and Caroline Fitzgerald
