Mongolia is a must do overland travel destination. Approximately 35% of the population is nomadic or semi-nomadic. Permanent dwellings are few and far between, fences even fewer and the land is owned by the people, like one large National Park. This is a tremendous destination to experience the outdoors, Mongolia also boasts unique history dating back to the Mongol Empire of Genghis Khan. It is a land of off-Road adventure, horses, and nomads.
The Naadam festival is a yearly celebration of Mongolia’s nomadic culture and sports. We were lucky to be part of some of the festivities in the small remote nomadic camps, enjoying the horse racing, Wrestling and Archery. For more pictures or details go to our Mongolia Page
